June Highlights

This race with great friends
Timberline Marathon and 1/2 Marathon

2:11 with 9:14 minute mile pace. I wasn't thrilled with the performance but I was the 10th girl which was kind of cool. It's really 14.1 miles so a half plus one.  The elevation was really tough on me.

I also ran the Vancouver marathon with friend Michelle.

And got some great miles in with running buddy Maria.

Aaron finished the first grade.  I'm so amazed at all he's learned this year.

Aaron got to do a great shoot camp  at Clubsport

And a weekend basketball camp with Mark Weeber-former Trailblazer

And a football camp

We got this and I can't wait to see our backyard transformed.I love that it has a removable cover too so that you are protected from sun and rain.

I got to try out these places

Lardo-yummy meatball sandwich

Songbird Cafe

Cafe Pallino had an incredible BLT and very comfortable couches.

Jade Tea house-great Thai food

These movies

We got to see Superman in the theater. It was amazing!

These great new sandals from DSW by Clarks
These books

Walk the Blue Fields

My favorite things with Aaron

I love:
  1. Swimming with my boy
  2. When he's walking home from school and sees me walking to meet him and he runs towards me.
  3. Watching him play basketball and football.  I'm so grateful for a healthy boy.
  4. Running a mile together. He's so new at running and it's neat to see how hard he works at it.
  5. His big heart. He cares a lot when others are hurting or sad.

Aaron's first race

I signed up for a 10 k over the Memorial Day weekend with some friends and decided to sign Aaron up  too. This race: here is normally shorter than I like but it was fun to push my speed.

Aaron crossing the finish line of his 1/2 mile run.

Go Aaron!

It's Summertime!

Here's our first trip up to the mountain with just Dave and I this summer. We biked, ate too much great steak and had a wonderful overnight vacation!  Here's to a couple of those a month eh? :)

First Grade Finished!

Summer is here and Aaron did such a great job learning and adjusting to first grade.  To celebrate we went to lunch:

They had amazing burgers and milkshakes-right up Aaron's alley.

I also got him a couple little gifts he had been wanting.  We are so excited for summer!

Blog Challenge Day 10

Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.

I think we've all had one email snafu.  Mine was such an embarrassment.  It was senior year in college and a friend I had since 8th grade announced his move the the East coast.  I wrote him a heartfelt letter about all the special times we had shared.  It was sappy to say the least and pressed replay, proud of my work.  Within five minutes I got a call from a boy down the hall in my dorm room asking me if I had meant to hit replay all. ACCCCk the letter went out to everyone my friend had notified about the move.  I was mortified.  Thank goodness it was all appropriate but it was just for him just the same. I always double and triple check the email addresses on my outgoing mail now:)

Blog Challenge Day 6

If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?

I run, parent, clean, read, take pictures, organize, plan parties, snowboard, snorkel, play with my little boy, drink wine, chat with friends, watch movies and enjoy the company of my family and friends.

What a story!

Did you see the movie Moonrise Kingdom? I loved it. This couple mimicked the movie with their engagement pics-amazing!

Reading Restaurant

Reading Restaurant

Aaron got to do the cutest little presentation at school.  The classroom is set up like a restaurant and the kids are dressed like waiters. They each read to their parent and the parent gets to choose a book off the menu of books.  Then the child chooses other parents to read to and you listen to another child read to you.  The child ends up reading about six books. I loved it and it was so impressive because Aaron went into first grade really having to work at his reading and can read so well now!

Ten of us got together this weekend on Mt Hood for a great 1/2 marathon.  A friend from high school, Stephanie, happens to have a birthday right around this weekend so we turned it into a party.  A wonderful time was had by all. Five of us ran and the other half were great encouragement to us runners. Here's some pictures of the event:
