November Highlights

Our little guy got a room remodel. His room was upstairs right next to ours. He's finally old enough to move downstairs to the guest room and we are moving the guest room up to Aaron's old room. We vaulted the ceilings in the new guest room and are still working on it but it should be great when it's done.

Aaron's old room upstairs-complete with popcorn ceiling:)

The guest room Aaron moved into

Aaron's new room:

Most of the items are the same:-Lamp, dresser and Star Wars bedding from Pottery Barn kids. Star Wars poster from Art.com.  The bed is from Macy's.  We debated letting Aaron have a TV in the room but he only uses it for sleepovers which is nice because than Dave and I can watch a movie downstairs.  I wish we had kept the trundle that went with this bed but alas for sleepovers a Costco camping mat works OK.

I'm on the hunt for a nicer full length mirror and a good looking fan for the room too.

Pictures of new guest room:

Aaron had lots of play dates and several overnighters this month.  He and his buddies Noah and Keegan can be found wrestling in every room of the house.

We had a great time at Bullwinkles too playing laser light tag:

Gaming, basketball, trampoline and eating-love playing with these boys:

Loving our lasts bits of fall:

Football games!

A great Halloween party

My sweetie turned 44
Here's his yummy Chocolate Fudge Cake

His friends took us to a great dinner at Twig.

I got to wear my new Anthro dress:

We saw these movies

This All is Bright said it was a comedy but it was slow and depressing in my opinion.

Loved this one:):

And bought these two

And we went to the theater to see the new Hunger Games movie Catching Fire. Aaron loved it.

Plus we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends:

Friendsgiving

Friendsgiving was a great success.  Here's some shots of our day.
House ready and waiting for friends.

Aaron got his beard hat out from last year to keep him cozy.

And he set up his Lego Thanksgiving display for us:

Dave and Kelley fried the turkey and it was incredible!

First bites of amazing turkey

Viva joined our friendsgiving too. I love that she's my mother in law and my friend.

Thank goodness for Tracie! She was an incredible cook. She got the rolls, mashed potatoes and stuffing all hot and ready.

After dinner we played basketball and went up to the park to play football. Then we headed back for pie and bed.  What a perfect day. I did find though, since we entertain like this so rarely, that I did not have a gravy boat and that I needed another butter serving dish. I picked several of each up at Pottery Barn the next day. I am set for Christmas.

We also discovered our set of Kitchenaid knives were pretty much done. We've had them for years and they just aren't that great.  Holiday sales to the rescue!  We found this great set at Macy's:

Ornament for the kids

I think Aaron choose the ugliest ornament ever.  Gollum from Lord of the Rings was his choice. We found it on Ebay.  We get ornaments for Calvin and Wesley too.

Aaron's:

Calvin's
